History of Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest originated in Munich, Germany, in 1810 to celebrate the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig and his wife, Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. The official wedding celebrations lasted 5 days and concluded with a horse race.
